How Does It Work?

After you place your online order, we'll pack your items up!  Most online orders will be ready for in-studio pick up in one day.  We will contact you when your order is ready to be picked up.
Item return instruction:
- When finished painting, please allow 24 hours for paint to dry before wrapping.
- Use provided paper wrap to protect the ceramics during transporting.
- Please include the provided receipt or write your name and order number on the bag when returning your items.
 

FAQs

Q. What is a Direct Ship Kit?

A. Each Direct Ship Kit includes 3 or 4 pre-selected ceramic items, fixed paint colors, paint brushes and a basic paint instruction sheet.  The kit will be shipped to your address directly from our warehouse.  You do not need to come to our studio for pick up.  Please allow up to 5 days for delivery.

Q. What is included in the "To-Go" order?

You must purchase a  Paint Kit and Ceramic.

Our paint kit will include 5 colors, glazing and firing. You must specify in your notes at checkout which 5 colors you would like.

Brushes are sold separately or you can use any arts and craft brush that you have at home as long as it is clean. 

Q. Can I buy pottery only?

A. Please note that your ceramic should be used with Color Me Mine paint colors, glazes and firing.  You are welcome to buy the pottery and paint it with your own paint.  However, If you want your item fired in our kilns, we are only able to accept pottery that has been painted with Color Me Mine underglaze paints. We are UNABLE to glaze and fire any ceramics painted with "unrelated outside" non Color Me Mine paints or underglazes.  No exceptions! 

Q. Does it have to be fired?

A. We say yes!  The underglaze paint is in organic form still. Meaning it is porous and unsealed (won't hold water!).  Also, it is not food safe until we glaze and fire it.  We dip (clear glaze) all items to cover areas painters might not be able to reach with their brush.  This is included in each ceramic item price for To-Go.  Please have us fire your items! 

Q. How do I order online?

A. Browse our online ceramic selection, don't forget to purchase paints.  Add a set of paint brush if you need it.  Complete the purchase online.

Q. When can I come to pick up my online order? 

A. Most online orders will be ready for pick up in one day.  You will be notified by email when your online order is ready.

Q. Can I mix acrylics and glazes?

A. Do NOT use acrylics if you want your item fired.  You can choose to use your own acrylics and your item doesn't need to be fired at all (you don't need to return the item to us).

Q. Do I have to use your underglazes (paint colors)?

A. Yes. Due to safety, glazing and firing concern, all underglaze paints MUST be from Color Me Mine ONLY. 

Q. Do I have to return paints? 

A. No, you can keep the extra paints.

Q. Do I need to pay a fee when I bring the item back for glazing and firing?

A. No.  Your ceramic item price online includes glazing and firing.

Q. I never painted pottery before and don't know how it works?

A. Absolutely not a problem!  You can paint your pottery however you want, to get you started, view the basic paint instructions here.

Reminder: You can drop off painted ceramics at our studio during business hours.  You will pick up fired masterpieces in about 10 days after initial drop-off.
